The Alterations Department…For the Perfect Fit!
We want to make your alteration appointment a favorable experience, so here are a few professional tips to achieve that goal. Virtually all wedding gowns and most formal wear will require alterations to fit perfectly. Our experienced seamstresses are excellent in their trade.
Our seamstresses book by appointment. Usually you will have 2 fittings, the first appointment can take up to one hour with the seamstress and she will pin your gown. The second appointment or final fitting will be booked to review the finished alterations. (There is a pinning fee charge for any work stoppage during or after the first fitting.) Alterations and the balance of the account must be paid in full before alterations can begin. Brides should book their first fitting 10-12 weeks before their wedding, bridesmaids 8-10 weeks. Rush fees may apply for fittings booked to close to the wear date.
All full price gowns and veils are complimentary pressed at our salon and are usually scheduled to be picked up the day before your event (with alterations done at our store or before it is taken). If you choose to have someone else pick up your items, you will need to email us and identify the specific individual who will be picking up and signing the merchandise release form. No items will be released without written permission from the purchaser on the sales contract.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
Most importantly, you will need to bring any foundation garments, (bras, slips, shoes, etc.) to your first fitting. We do sell foundation garments at our salon and you may be fitted for them at your first appointment, we do not have samples of these items to try on for your fitting. All alterations are based on the foundation garments worn during the first fitting and any changes to the fit of your gown for changing these garments may result in additional charges to adjust.
